Pricing FAQ
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 API lookups a month on the free plan, with the same endpoints as paid plans and no card required. Searching barcodes on the website, the barcode generator and the check digit calculator are free and need no account.
What counts as a lookup?
Each barcode you request counts as one lookup, including barcodes we have no record for. A batch request for 100 barcodes uses 100 lookups, and a product search request uses one. Requests that fail because of an error on our side are not counted.
What happens if I run out of lookups?
The API returns a quota_exceeded error until your allowance resets at the start of your next monthly cycle. You can upgrade at any time from your dashboard to keep going.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. Plans are month to month with no contract. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel from your dashboard whenever you like.
How is bulk lookup priced?
Bulk CSV lookup costs $0.10 per barcode in the file, paid once per upload with no subscription. You can check up to 25 barcodes free first to see what the results look like. Files can hold up to 100,000 barcodes, and results arrive as a CSV within 24 to 48 hours.
Do you offer volume or enterprise pricing?
Yes. For more than 100,000 lookups a month, data licensing or invoice billing, contact us and we will put together a custom plan.
Do you sell UPC codes?
No. We recommend UPCs.com, which sells UPC codes for $10 per code as a one-time purchase.
